David Dunn, Director of Karate for Christ International
David Dunn is a born again Christian and has serves as a Deacon at South Haven Baptist Church in Springfield Missouri. David loves the Lord and like many of you he started his martial arts ministry at his local church. He started his local Karate for Christ Ministry in 2001. God has used this ministry to bring several kids into a personal relationship with Christ.
Colossians 3:17 And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.
As the Director of Karate for Christ International Mr. Dunn encourages others to become active in martial arts ministry. Martial arts is a great platform for evangelism. Each one of us has a mission field in our own backyard and by engaging in martial arts ministry we can fulfill Mark 16:15.
Mark 16:15 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.
Our mission is to operate Christ-centered martial arts programs committed to inspire, encourage, and equip its students not only to become better martial artists, but more importantly, to become bold effective witnesses for Jesus Christ. These programs reach into the community, providing a vehicle for evangelism to Adults and children.

Karate for Christ International exists to glorify God by leading students to become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ. A fully devoted follower of Jesus Christ seeks to become a person who daily worships God, brings others to Christ, learns God’s word, loves other believers, and serves in the world.
This is the heart and soul of what we are trying to accomplish. This is Karate for Christ!
Achievements
* 2001 Started martial arts ministry in Springfield Missouri.
* 2002 Joined Karate for Christ and the Shinsei Hapkido Federation.
* 2003 David served as 2nd Vice President KFCI under Joseph Lumpkin.
* 2004 thru 2011 served as Vice President under new KFCI President Daryl Covington.
* 2008 David was inducted into the Karate for Christ Hall of Fame by Daryl Covington KFCI President.
* 2011 became incoming President / Director of Karate for Christ International.
* 2014 received a Distinguished Leadership Award by the KFCI Advisory Board.
* 2016 inducted into the United States Martial Arts Hall of Fame, received the Humanitarian Award.
* 2018 inducted into the United States Martial Arts Hall of Fame, received Award for Leading by Example.
* 2021 David was promoted to 8th degree Black Belt in Shinsei Hapkido by Doju Nim Joseph Lumpkin.
